 Welcome to the Reflective Sign Sheeting Store, a division of Cole Farms, Incorporated. We specialize in Reflective Sign Sheeting products and carry a variety of widths, lengths and types. We carry Nikkalite and Reflexite reflective sheeting. When light hits reflective sheeting the sign reflects that light back to the source making the sign light up. 

Reflective Sign Sheeting is used in two ways.

First, it is used as the background for road signs and private signs as well. For ground mounted signs MUTCD standards require that you use a type 2 (super engineer grade) material or better for the background. The same applies to overhead signs.

Second, sign sheeting is used as lettering for signs or vehicle graphics.  Many of our reflective sheeting rolls are cuttable with a basic computer controlled CAD cutter/plotter.  We have a category to the left that lists the cuttable materials. Note: According to MUTCD standards, ground mounted signs must use a super engineer grade or better material for lettering and overhead signs must use a prismatic material that is Type 3 or better for the white lettering. (Our V82 white would meet the requirement for overhead lettering).

We carry eight types of reflective sign sheeting. They are listed by brightness.

Standard Engineer Grade or Type I  - most common reflective tape. It reflects at about 75 candlepower. This material will not stretch as much as the flexible version and is great for applications where you do not want the tape to stretch so easily.   This material is rated as a 7 year outdoor material and is available in 7 colors. We also carry orange/white and red/white prestriped barricade tape in this material.  CAD cuttable=YES.  (60 degree blade is recommended)

Flexible Engineer Grade Type I  - made for emergency vehicle graphics but can be used for a multitude of other applications. It reflects at about 75 candlepower for the white. This material is flexible and will also stretch when heated and is great for applications that require the tape to conform to irregular surfaces.  This is a 7 year outdoor material and is available in 8 colors including black.  CAD cuttable=YES. (45 degree or 60 degree blade recommended - This is the easiest reflective material to CAD cut. It is also digitally printable)

Super Engineer Grade or Type 2  - very affordable option for ground mounted DOT type road signs.  It is twice as bright as engineer grade tape and meets MUTCD standards for reflectivity when used on any ground mounted sign.  It is also warrantied to exceed the minimum reflectivity standard set by the FHWA for 12 years.  This material can be used for both the background and lettering for MUTCD compliant signs. It is available in 7 colors.  We also carry orange/white and red/white prestriped barricade tape in this material.  CAD cuttable=YES.  (60 degree blade is recommended)

(We also carry ready to apply premade STOP SIGN faces in the super engineer grade material.)

High Intensity or Type III - reflects at about 250 candlepower for the white which is about 3 times brighter than standard engineer grade material. It is flexible but will not stretch.  It utilizes glass beads for reflectivity and has the familiar honeycomb pattern. It is used mainly as a sign background.  This is a 10 year outdoor material and is available in 6 colors. This film is available in white, yellow, orange, red, blue, green and brown.  We also carry orange/white and red/white prestriped barricade tape in this material. CAD cuttable=NO (used primarily for sign backgrounds)

Flexible High Intensity Type 3 Sheeting - This material is identical to our standard type 3 high intensity tape except that it is flexible and WILL stretch and conform. It is also CAD cuttable meaning it can be used to make letters by running it through a vinyl cutter. Our flexible high intensity is available in white, yellow and orange only. CAD cuttable=YES (60 degree blade recommended)

V92 Daybright Prismatic Reflective - prismatic reflective tape and reflects using microscopic prisms rather than glass beads. It is much brighter than the glass bead type tapes.  It reflects at 600-700 candlepower for the white. It is flexible but will not stretch. The V92 is a 5-7 year outdoor material. We carry this tape in white, red, yellow, blue, green and orange.  CAD cuttable=YES (45 or 60 degree blade recommended)

V82 Prismatic Reflective Type 5 - very similar to the V92 Prismatic Tape but is a little brighter and is classified as a "Type 5" material.  V82 is a 10 year outdoor material and is available in white, red, yellow, blue, green and orange. This material would meet the criteria set by the MUTCD for lettering on overhead signs.  CAD cuttable=YES (45 or 60 degree blade recommended)

Crystal Grade or CRG sheeting - very similar to what people know as "diamond" grade tape which is a 3m product.  Our CRG material is rated a type 8 and is the brightest sheeting available in colors. It is about the thickness of a guitar pick or credit card and is the brightest sign sheeting available. CAD cuttable=NO (Primarily used to create very bright sign backgrounds)
